About this Puja

Sanctification of a new vehicle for safe journeys.
Traditional background
Mythology Behind Vahan Puja
Vahan Puja has no single Puranic story; it grows out of the older Ayudha Puja tradition — the worship of the tools and instruments on which one's livelihood and safety depend, still observed widely on Dussehra and Vishwakarma Puja. Just as warriors once worshipped their weapons and artisans their tools, families today worship the vehicle that will carry them. Prayers are commonly addressed to Ganesha for an auspicious beginning and to Hanuman for protection on the road. The ritual is best understood as an act of gratitude and a mindful commitment to drive responsibly.
